Even while creatively directing the New Balance Made in USA lineup, Teddy Santis continues to create new designs with his Aime Leon Dore label. Fresh off the successful drop of a three-pack of New Balance 1000 colorways, Santis has now previewed another revived sneaker, the New Balance 475, which will get the Aime Leon Dore treatment.
The New Balance 475, originally an offshoot design of Steven Smith's New Balance Trailbuster, is returning in 2024. Sole Retriever recently revealed that the 475 silhouette would return, with general release colorways expected throughout the following year. However, these two Aime Leon Dore versions bring elevated material choices and a sophisticated color palette, much like the brand's T500 collaboration last year.
One of the two confirmed colorways for the Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 475 features premium suede overlays in a cream/tan hue, perfectly complementing the white mesh base. The N logo and heel tab add a touch of contrast in a green shade, with the logo in a woven textile finish and the heel tab in a cracked leather material. Completing the design is a cream midsole paired with a black rubber outsole, ensuring both style and durability.
A second color was revealed later, with it coming in a similar cream and white color scheme. Accenting hues of navy land on the woven textile N logo, while we see red cracked leather hit the heel tab. Black pops along the sockliner, lining of the tongue, branding on the tongue tag, and on the midfoot panel. Underfoot sits a cream foam midsole and a black rubber outsole.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 475 Pack will release as part of Aime Leon Dore's upcoming Fall/Winter collection. On September 12th, the pair was offered to select ALD customers via early access. The public will have a chance at the pair on September 20, 2024. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
