Introduced to us at the beginning of 2022, the Jordan 1 Elevate is a platform take on the coveted basketball silhouette, leaning more into fashion rather than the performance it once was known for. Throughout the year of its introduction, the women’s exclusive model only appeared in low-top form, though that is all changing going into 2023. Alongside the recently revealed “Varsity Red” pair, the Air Jordan 1 Elevate High “Desert” is on the way.
Keeping in line with AJ 1 heritage, the upper comes in the classic silhouette with an all-leather build, though some details do get a mixup. White leather lands on the perforated toebox, midfoot, collar, and tongue, while the various overlays get the aforementioned desert makeover. Tonal tan laces work up the brandless tongue tag, borrowing the theme found on the outline of the Jordan Wings logo along the collar. Along the medial side, a zipper is included to allow for easy on-and-off wear considering the new elevated height would make it more difficult to put on. Finally, underfoot, the extra thick reworked AJ 1 midsole comes in a sail shade with a two-tone desert and sail rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Elevate High Desert W is set to release on February 14th, 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $145.
