The Air Jordan 1 High in the Chicago colorway is a cultural icon that transcends basketball, fashion, and sneaker culture. First introduced in 1985, this sneaker became synonymous with Michael Jordan's legendary career and was even worn by MJ during his last game at Madison Square Garden as a Chicago Bull in 1998. Over the years, Jordan Brand has treated fans to several retros of this colorway, the most recent being the Reimagined Lost and Found edition, which featured an aged aesthetic. According to Elden Monitors, the Chicago colorway is set to return in its original form on the Air Jordan 1 High 85 in Fall 2025. Alongside this ‘85 colorway, 2025 will feature the Bred colorway on this model.
In an update, it has been confirmed that the rumors of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Chicago release for Fall 2025 were speculation and never confirmed. Therefore, this rumor is just that, a rumor. Unfortunately, the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Chicago is not set to be released.
Like other ‘85 Jordan 1s, this new Chicago release is expected to maintain the quality and build of the 1985 Air Jordan 1 High version. 2025’s iteration of the ‘85 AJ 1 will be as close to the OG as possible as Jordan Brand used 3D scan data from the original release and samples to mimic the 1985 edition. The sneaker will showcase premium red leather on the mudguard, eyestays, collar, and heel overlay, while crisp white hues will dominate the toebox, midfoot, and tongue. Black accents will appear on the Swoosh, collar, Wings logo, and lace set, staying true to the classic Chicago design. A white midsole and a red rubber outsole complete the look.
The Air Jordan 1 High 85 Chicago was rumored to release in Fall 2025. However, as stated above, this rumor was premature as the sneaker was never confirmed. If it is released in the future, it will be available through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
