Those who have been collecting Jordans for decades (or those who appreciate the history of the Jordan Brand) will know that remixes to the original 1-14 silhouettes are nothing new. We’ve seen a fusion of popular models, like the Jordan Two Trey or Jordan Dub Zero, however, a modern upgrade recently entered the scene in the form of the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT - adding Zoom cushioning to the almost 40-year-old model. Following up this silhouette is the aptly named Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2, appearing now in “Black Fire Red Cement.”
Like many of the Zoom CMFT colorways, the silhouette comes constructed out of a soft suede throughout its upper while slightly tweaking the design of your standard Air Jordan 1. These changes are evident via the branding details, like the “Zoom Air” tag on the tongue or the cut-out Nike Swoosh along the midfoot, while the collar overlay comes unstitched and free from the mesh collar. Perforations in the materials not only appear on the toebox but along the medial quarter panel, bottommost eyestay, and via the collar overlay. As for the colorblocking, the cement grey and black combo via the overstays and underlays respectively remind one of the iconic “Shadow” colorway, however, fire red accents on the branding details make this stand out from the pack. Underfoot, the white AJ 1 midsole features Zoom Air cushioning and Formula23 foam to increase the comfort of this CMFT 2 model while the fire red and cement grey rubber outsole complete the look.
The Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2 Black Fire Red Cement is set to release in the Spring of 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
