Every year Nike and Jordan Brand help ring in the Lunar New Year through a variety of themed sneakers that either directly nod to the holiday itself or the zodiac sign that will shine over the upcoming calendar change. With 2023 being the “Year Of The Rabbit,” we’ve already seen three separate Nike Dunk colorways, an Air Max Scorpion, and an AF1 Low that comes inspired by the animal, however, Jordan Brand is joining in on the party with the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low “Year Of The Rabbit.”
These early images showcase a suede, wool, and leather constructed AJ 1 Low that takes on a combination of brown, white, grey, and sail throughout the upper. Standard details you’d find on the silhouette remain such as the leather toebox getting perforated and the brown mudguard matching the eyestays, however, the lace set comes in a fuzzy wool-like material that drives home the rabbit theme. Atop the tongue sits a Nike Air-branded tag in red while the reverse features a depiction of a rabbit and a label that displays which numbered pair you received out of 5,000. Heading to the midfoot, the Nike Swoosh comes in a tan hue and runs back over the heel overlay that comes in a grey suede finish. Rounding out the design is a white AJ 1 midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Low Year Of The Rabbit is set to release in February 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is TBA.
