Many of the classic Air Jordan models were crafted to match MJ’s Chicago Bulls uniform, however, once he was finished lacing up the AJ 14 (let's try to forget his days with the Wizards) in 1998, we began to see a slew of color schemes hit the Air Jordan lineup. One palette that has taken over fashion in the last half decade has been earth tones and Jordan retros have taken part in this trend with releases like the Air Jordan 1 High “Mocha” and the slew of Travis Scott AJ 1s like his recent string of low-tops and the original Travis Scott x AJ 1 High. Following up the reveal of the earthy Air Jordan 3 Retro “Light Orewood Brown” and a series of “Palomino” Jordan models, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG gets accented by “Palomino” shades.
Taking on “Bred” colorblocking, the silhouette gets covered in a mixture of leather and suede across its two-tone upper. Along the toebox and on the heel and collar overlays sits palomino-shaded suede which contrasts the all-black leather along the mudguard, eyestays, quarter panel, and collar. For laces, things stay all-black as does the tongue while we see hits of metallic gold appear on the Nike-branded tongue tag. Along the midfoot sits a suede Nike Swoosh that gets dressed in the accenting shade of palomino while the design comes completed by a sail midsole and palomino rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Palomino is set to release on September 2nd, 2023 through Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s and grade school sizing, the retail price is set at $180 (men) and $140 (GS).
