Your average sneakerhead and the general public have grown tired of the Air Jordan 1, as the silhouette has struggled to sell out in most colorways in the last year. High production numbers coinciding with many releases is the main culprit here. To combat this, the number of Air Jordan 1s releasing in 2025 has been dramatically reduced from the original plans. However, we still have multiple releases that are dropping during the silhouette's 40th birthday, like the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High, the Black Toe Reimagined (delayed from Holiday 2024 to Spring 2025), the Bred ‘85 High, and the UNC Reimagined. A pair initially slated to release during Summer 2025, dubbed Self Expression, has been moved back to Fall 2025.
Although the pair is listed to have a color scheme of black and summit white, the sneaker will feature multiple layers of paint across the leather paneling that can be worn away in a similar fashion to the Lance Mountain AJ 1 SB. No pair will be the same as the last, as once you wear off the top layer of black, a multi-color finish in a unique pattern will be revealed. Below this vibrant layer will be a solid layer of white paint.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Self Expression will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is $180 and $140, respectively.
