Jordan Brand and the rest of the footwear industry are preparing to celebrate the Chinese New Year in early 2025 with sneaker releases. Sole Retriever already reported on the six pairs that are set to drop that will honor the Year of the Snake, but we’ve been getting previews of select pairs like the Jordan 11 Low. The first images of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Year of the Snake have appeared online.
Utilizing the same concept of ready-to-shed snakeskin as the AJ 11 Low CNY, the silhouette features a ripstop material that resembles dead snakeskin along the Swoosh. Contrasting this darker grey hue are the photon dust smooth leather overlays along the mudguard, eyestays, and heel tab. Here, the Jordan Wings logo comes in bubble form, taking on an iridescent snake-eye-esque appearance.
On the model's base sits summit white shades on the perforated leather toebox and the smooth leather midfoot panel. While the nods to the snake have been relatively tame, including a black snakeskin, Jumpman-laden hang tag directly references the theme. The sail rubber midsole finishes the design paired with a clear rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Year of the Snake will release on January 29, 2025, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price is set at $160 (men), $140 (GS), $90 (PS), and $75 (TD).
