During Michael Jordan’s time in the NBA, we would see his signature series of sneakers from Nike come to us in colors fit for the Chicago Bulls, however, once he was out of the league the models began to appear in a slew of colors. These have ranged from multi-color vibrant sneakers to remixes of the classic construction but as of late, we’ve seen more and more Air Jordan models appear in earth tones. While in the past the AJ 3 has taken on shades of “Mocha,” 2023 will see the first Air Jordan designed by Tinker Hatfield take on a creamy mixture of earth tones dubbed “Palomino.”
Featuring a suede upper, the silhouette is doused in a creamy shade throughout most of its design while we see accenting hits of various browns around select details of the sneaker. For its elephant print, Jordan Brand sticks to the classic pattern with a brown-shaded suede appear on the mudguard, heel, and even on the uppermost eyestays while the metallic eyelets below get a golden makeover. TPU eyelets near the top portion of the lacing system come in a chocolate brown hue with the Jumpman logo and sockliner nearby continuing this shade. Perforated details around the collar come in a tan hue that contrasts the creamy shade of the Jumpman-branded heel tab. Rounding out the design is the AJ 3 midsole which comes in white and brown with exposed Air near the heel paired with a tannish-grey rubber outsole.
