Jordan Brand may have had its start and popularization in the United States, however, the brand entered the Chinese market near the end of MJ's career and has since grown a sizeable fanbase in the region. On top of celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Jordan Brand’s work in China last year, we often see a rendition of the latest Air Jordan performance model (AJ 37 for 2023) that pays homage to the city of Beijing’s Dongdan basketball tournament and this year will be with the Air Jordan 37 Low GC “Beijing.”
Coming dressed in its usual neoprene, TPU, and Leno-Weave upper, the AJ 37 Low takes on a series of vibrant colors mixed with black and white hits throughout. Around the toebox and midfoot sits a shade of lilac that wraps all the way back around the heel while black accents appear on the tongue and midfoot panel. Jumpman branding comes in a tan hue atop the tongue and back on the heel while an included semi-translucent plastic hang tag features Beijing text, a Dongdan tournament logo, and a Jumpman next to a QR code that leads to Jordan Brand’s WeChat account. Other details nodding to the Dongdan tournament are seen on the heel tab with MJ’s signature replaced by the tournament's logo. Rounding out the design is the white foam midsole with speckle paint details and a semi-translucent portion on the heel paired with a multi-color rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 37 Low GC Beijing will release in June through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $195.
