This year, the sports world's eyes will be on Paris as the French capital is hosting the Olympic games, and Jordan Brand is commemorating the occasion with several releases. The Air Jordan 38 Low Torch honors the Olympic spirit alongside a series of themed releases, including a much-anticipated retro of the Jordan 6 Olympic. Outside of Jordan Brand, Nike plans for an Olympic-themed Air Max 1 and retros of the Air More Uptempo and Kobe 4 Protro Olympic.
The Air Jordan 38 Low Torch is designed to reflect the essence of the Olympic torch. Across the sneaker sits a combination of nubuck, textile, and neoprene in a sleek grey color scheme, accented with bright crimson on the lace set and the circular tongue tag of the right shoe. On the left pair, an Olympic torch graphic is outlined in vibrant orange, further tying the design to the Olympic theme.
Typically, the heel of the AJ 38 features embroidered graphics that reinterpret moments from Michael Jordan's illustrious career. However, this time, it is stylized to resemble a flame flickering in the wind. This textile detail stands out in contrasting grey against the rest of the upper. The design is completed with a cement grey midsole adorned with speckle details and bright crimson TPU reinforcements, underlined by a durable rubber outsole that includes the X-Plate technology.
The Air Jordan 38 Low Torch will release in 2024 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $185.
