We receive a new Air Jordan sneaker every year, and Chinese basketball star Guo Ailun releases his PE colorway to the public. This practice began with the Air Jordan 31, and now, as we’re getting the proper rollout of the new Air Jordan 39, official images of Ailun’s Air Jordan 39 PE have emerged.
Guo’s signature color palette is applied here, consistent with his previous PE colorways, as white and hyper-jade hues are present across the upper. Pure platinum leather panels hit the toebox and lowe eyelets, while a knit base comes with embroidered details across the upper in tonal hues. These embroidered camo-like patterns are derived from Jordan Brand designers testing MJ’s iconic cross-step repeatedly on a pair of painted Air Jordan 29s, causing it to crack in the pattern applied to the AJ 39. Ailun’s G logo replaces the Jumpman on the tongue in a hyper jade shade, matching the Jumpman on the right sneaker’s tongue. More jade accents are found on the Air Jordan heel tab and near the middle of the midsole. Rounding out the look is the full-length ZoomX foam cushioning and Zoom Air-laden midsole in a clear white finish paired with a tonal outsole.
The Air Jordan 39 Guo Ailun PE releases Holiday 2024 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
