The University of North Carolina Gets a New Air Jordan 4 PE for 2025
PublishedPlayer-exclusive Air Jordans from NCAA programs sponsored by Jordan Brand are some of the most highly sought-after and appreciated sneakers, and MJ’s alma matter never plays fair. Considering that UNC is where he honed his skills before entering the NBA, the school has received what many consider to be the best exclusive sneakers alongside the University of Oregon. For 2025, Jordan-sponsored schools will get a new Air Jordan 4 PE, with UNC being the first to share images of this elusive sneaker.
Unlike the famous UNC Air Jordan 4 PE from 2019, which helped inform the University Blue colorway released three years later, this pair opts for a material makeup identical to the Air Jordan 4 First Class PE. This pair, created by ex-Jordan Brand designer Kelsey Amy, honored WNBA athletes with the soft green and metallic gold silhouette. The same soft tone is applied here but in UNC’s famous blue hue.
Pebbled leather lands on the mudguard, tongue, and heel tab, taking on a slightly different blue hue than the smooth leather finish on the upper. Metallic Gold accents appear on the branding near the tongue tag, vamp, and added hangtag, the latter featuring UNC’s logo on a golden tag. UNC is also engraved on the metallic gold lace dubrae, but one of the best features on the sneaker is reserved for the Jumpman logos on the aforementioned hang tag and the heel.
Both depictions of MJ dunking take on a 3D metallic gold finish with a diamond inserted where the basketball would be in his hands. Underfoot, the model comes in a two-tone UNC blue finish with an exposed Air unit in the heel and a tonal rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 4 UNC PE for 2025 will be exclusive to the student-athletes who play for the Tar Heels men’s and women’s basketball teams.
