It looks like 2023 is set to be a massive year Jordan retros, with another Jordan 5 coming back. Following news that the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” will be re-releasing, 2006’s iconic Air Jordan 5 Burgundy is also on the cards to return. One of the first non-OG AJ5 colorways created by Tinker Hatfield, this is a must-have whether you’re an old school sneakerhead or a new one.
When it first made its debut back in 2006, it launched alongside the Air Jordan 5 “Green Bean” which was very recently retroed. Boasting an all-suede construction that’s as premium as they come, the upper is dipped in a “Deep Burgundy” hue while contrast stitching runs across. “Flint Grey” accents adorn the tongue and sockliner just like the OG, and keeping in line with the classic AJ5 design, the oversized tongue is coated in a reflective finish. This all sits on top of a Nike Air midsole that’s inspired by World War 2 fighter jets.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro SE Burgundy release has been pushed up to August 29th, 2023. The AJ 5 Burgundy will release through Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in full-family sizing, the pair will retail for $225 in men's sizing with kids sizing coming in at $150 (GS), $90 (PS), and $75 (TD).
