After some changes, it will now be released in Spring 2025. As one of the most beloved silhouettes in the Air Jordan series, though it can get underlooked in modern sneakers culture, the Jordan 5 has a rich history of iconic colorways and moments. Rumors indicated this pair would be a Black Cat colorway, but the leading color, anthracite, means this pair is dark-toned, as all previous Black Cat renditions on other models start with black on the color code.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro SE Anthracite is draped in a luxurious suede upper, bathed in a deep anthracite shade that exudes a subtle yet powerful presence. The monochromatic theme is broken by black accents on the reflective tongue, midfoot mesh cage, and TPU eyestays, adding depth and contrast to the overall design. The defining features of the Jordan 5, such as the lace lock and the iconic shark teeth on the midsole, are preserved, with the latter sporting a black finish speckled with white for added flair. The design is completed with a semi-translucent outsole, maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the silhouette.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro SE Anthracite was originally set to release in October 2024 before being pushed back to Spring 2025. However, the shoe has been officially canceled. If it is released in the future, it will be available through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in full-family sizing, retail is set at $210 for men, $160 for GS, $100 for PS, and $85 for TD.
