Michael Jordan's affinity for golf has led to his performance basketball sneakers being transformed into golf-ready models. Though the original mashup of Air Jordans with golf spikes occurred in 2015, recent years have seen more retro J's take on a course-ready design. Following the return of the Air Jordan 6 Retro Golf “White Infrared,” Jordan Brand introduces us to a “Players Championship” themed colorway on this same silhouette.
Taking on a mixture of white and Bordeaux shades across its upper, the silhouette primarily gets dressed in white leather throughout its design. This lands on the toebox, midfoot panels, and heel, while the tongue features Bordeaux neoprene on the bottom half, Bordeaux leather on the top portion, and a white lace cover with the Jumpman logo in this wine-red hue. Added details to the model include a wine glass embroidered into the heel, a lace lock featuring a cherry graphic on its clear plastic finish, and specks of “water” added to the back half of the model. Rounding out the design is the white and Bordeaux Air Jordan 6 midsole paired with a spiked AJ 6 outsole.
The Air Jordan 6 Retro Golf Players Championship will release on April 7th, 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $220.
