2024 is set to be a big year for sneakers. Nike and Jordan Brand will release new and old classics and bring back some fan favorites. We know the Air Foamposite One OG Royal and the Air Jordan 4 Retro Military Blue are returning. In addition, both brands are all in for the 2024 Olympic Games. The Nike Air More Uptempo Olympic will drop, and the Air Jordan 6 Retro Olympic will also return.
First seen in 2000, the Air Jordan 6 Retro Olympic was worn on-court by Ray Allen for Team USA during the Sydney games, en route to a gold medal. They saw a limited release that year and instantly became sought after. It wasn't until 2012, when the Olympic games were held in London, that this pair would re-release. Another twelve years later, Jordan Brand is bringing the Air Jordan 6 Retro Olympic out for its third release. Coming in white, varsity red, and midnight navy, this AJ 6 is identical to its predecessors, sporting an all-leather upper. This time, premium leather is used, with white overlays and navy blue underlays. The cut will also be more faithful to the original 1991 AJ 6 rather than previous retros. Jumpman branding is on the back heel and insoles, with icy blue translucent hits on the outsole to tie everything together.
The Air Jordan 6 Retro Olympic was originally set to release on July 20, 2024. After a small delay, they will now drop on August 3 through Nike, SNKRS, and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, retail is set at $200, $160, $100, and $85, respectively.
