While the AJKO version of the Air Jordan 1 might not get the same love and respect as the regular edition, it is definitely a sleeper sneaker. Both OG and new colorways have released since the sneaker was retroed for the first time in 2010. When it got the "OG" treatment, things only got better in terms of shape and quality. Still, the Air Jordan AJKO 1 continues to fly under the radar. Clean colorways like the "Rush Orange" and "Grey Fog" are simple and clean, but numerous shipping delays halted them from being scooped up and sell out on release date. With hype dying down for the Air Jordan 1 in general, does this mean the AJKO is doomed as well? Only time will tell.
Next year, all iterations of the Air Jordan 1 are set to be released. Highs and Lows, OG and GR, even the AJKO High will be joined by the AJKO Low for the first time ever. But speaking of the Air Jordan AJKO 1, we have some very nice colorways in store for us as a part of Jordan Brand's Fall 2023 Retro Footwear Lineup. One of those pairs is inspired by Michael Jordan's high school alma mater, the Laney High Buccaneers. Coming in true blue, topaz gold, and sail, this AJKO features similar colorblocking to the classic "Bred" edition, with blue covering the majority of the canvas upper, paired with gold. An aged, sail-colored midsole adds to the vintage aesthetic that we all love today.
The Air Jordan AJKO 1 Laney release has been pushed up to September 9th, 2023. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, both online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $150. Make sure you check out our Jordan release calendar, and keep it locked to our Twitter and the Mobile App. If you're looking for a more in-depth breakdown of the Air Jordan 1 and upcoming releases, take a look at our Air Jordan 1 Buyers Guide and our Air Jordan 1 Release Dates Page!
