A’ja Wilson Gifts Dawn Staley A’One of 1 Nike A'One Black Label PE

Footwear brands have prepped various basketball sneakers to celebrate with the NBA All-Star festivities looming over the basketball world. Nike Basketball, in particular, is elevating its lineup with a Black Label collection featuring premium materials and a primarily black finish to the sneakers of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Ja Morant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Sabrina Ionescu, and even a GT Hustle 3 PE for Victor Wembanyama. Adding to the celebrations is a special version of A’ja Wilson’s recently-revealed signature sneaker, the Nike A’One, which the WNBA superstar has gifted to the legendary Dawn Staley.
Wilson’s relationship with Staley goes back to her days playing at USC, making this gift extra special, considering Dawn helped push A’ja to become the player she is today. A shimmering effect is applied to the black neoprene base layer, likely riffing off the silhouette’s pearl-inspired design motifs. At the same time, we see a velvet black satin applied to the vamp, eyestays, and collar. Outlining the midfoot Swoosh are hits of alabaster, which also make up the text found on the Black Label tag on the lateral side and the text on the medial.

Here, a metal tag denotes the number of pairs made on other Black Label pairs. This one playfully reads “A’One of 1.” Other elevated details on this A’One are the flat ribbon laces with bead charms, the pink A’ja Wilson logo on the tongue, and the iridescent finish on the TPU frame bezel that helps support the Cushlon foam inside the midsole. Rounding out the sneaker is the blacked-out rubber outsole.
Unfortunately, the Nike A’One Black Label will remain a 1-of-1 sneaker for Dawn Staley. However, fans of the sneaker don’t have to wait too long as the A’One will debut in May 2025 in multiple colorways.
