Alex Toussaint turned his life around after a rough upbringing, becoming one of the most iconic and famous cycling instructors online through Peloton. In 2023, Alex teamed up with Puma to launch the brand’s first-ever indoor cycling show, the PWRSPIN, and is following up this collab with a new project. Toussaint and Puma are working on the race-ready Puma Deviate Nitro 3.
Inspired by what Puma calls “his favorite Miami basketball team,” Alex Toussaint’s Deviate Nitro 3 comes with vibrant hits of color accenting the white base and inspiring messages. An engineered white mesh base takes over most of the upper, with more white hues on TPU reinforcements, PWRTAPE overlay, and lace set. Along the lateral side, we see a Puma formstrip logo that transitions from a coral red shade to blue as you move back. Alex’s logo is integrated into multiple parts of the sneaker, including a pattern within the formstrip, the tongue tag, and the medial heel.
Other colorful accents can be seen via the nylon lace loop, the Puma cat logo on the toe, and the heel’s TPU counter. Messages from Alex are found on the insole and medial side of the sole unit, the former hosting an excerpt from his book and the latter his mantra, “execute with intention.” The coral and light blue NITROFOAM-cushioned midsole finishes the design with a PWRPLATE shank placed in the center paired with a tonal rubber outsole.
The Alex Toussaint x Puma Deviate Nitro 3 will release on November 15, 2024, through the Puma mobile app, Puma's website, and the Puma NYC flagship store.
