Angel Reese has taken the WNBA by storm in her rookie year, earning a spot in the WNBA All-Star game and showcasing her dominance on the court. Before finishing her final year at LSU, she signed an NIL deal with Reebok. This signing, orchestrated by Shaquille O'Neal, has since seen Reese take the court in various Reebok Solution PEs and tease an upcoming collaborative capsule of apparel and sneakers. However, Sole Retriever had the opportunity to speak with Angel Reese during the lead-up to the WNBA All-Star game, in which she confirmed that she would be getting her own signature Reebok sneaker.
"I love Reebok. Shaq has been amazing to me. When I first met him, he said, 'When are you signing to Reebok?'" Reese recounted. Her enthusiasm for the brand was evident as she teased future projects, stating, "We have a lot of great things in the works." When asked about her getting a signature sneaker down the line, Reese confirmed, "For sure."
Although specific details and release dates for Reese's signature sneaker are still under wraps, the model will likely debut in 2025. This timing aligns with Reebok Basketball's strategic plans for a brand renaissance, spearheaded by new president and vice president Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson, respectively. As Reebok aims to reestablish itself in the basketball market, Reese's signature line could be pivotal in this resurgence. This will also mark the first woman to get a signature basketball sneaker from Reebok since Rebecca Lobo in 1997.
