One of the biggest surprises of 2024 was the skyrocketing popularity of Asics. The Japanese footwear brand had long been associated with “uncool” shoes, but as mesh runners and comfort-focused sneakers became fashionable, the brand benefited significantly. Of their offerings, one of the most popular is the Gel-Kayano 14, a mesh runner from 2008 that has transcended its performance origins to become a staple in streetwear. Now, for 2025, Asics is giving the model a Tiffany-esque makeover featuring a blue shade similar to the jeweler's iconic color.
Like many other colorways of the silhouette, this iteration of the Kayano 14 comes with metallic silver leather panels along the mudguard, eyestays, vamp, and heel tab. A similarly shaded mesh is on the base layer, visible along the toebox, midfoot, and collar. Breaking up the tonal silver hues are hits of a Tiffany-esque blue hue, running across the midfoot as part of the Asics tiger stripes. More of this blue is found along the tongue tag branding, contrasted by silver and black shades on the tongue, lace set, and sockliner. Gel-Kayano 14 text is found on the lateral heel overlay, spanning from the heel toward the midfoot and coated in black. Underfoot sits a black and white foam midsole with hits of Tiffany blue along the Gel inserts in the heel and forefoot and a black and blue outsole.
The Asics Gel-Kayano 14 Tiffany has no confirmed release date, but with the year nearing an end, we will likely see the pair drop in early 2025. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
