Over the last year, Asics shoes have skyrocketed in popularity thanks largely to the trend of mesh runners and techy design language. While we’ve seen no shortage of models like the Gel-Kayano 14, Gel-NYC, GT-2160, and Gel-1130, the Gel-Kayano 20 has slowly been having a resurgence thanks to timely collaborations. The model has been subject to makeovers from Kenzo, doublet, Bodega, and an upcoming project with HAL Studios. Now, Asics is ready to reintroduce the model's inline colorways onto the market, starting with a Cream Blue colorway.
A breathable mesh base comes in a cream hue, visible throughout the entire upper. Tonal cream shades are on the leather panels along the mudguard, toebox, eyelets, and lining the textured blue Asics Tiger stripe logo on the midfoot. Metallic blue hues appear on the intricate paneling along the midfoot, passing the blue, red, and cream midfoot logo. Gel-Kayano 20 branding is placed along the lateral heel in red, while the mudguard features a 20th Anniversary for Gel-Kayano logo. This 20th-anniversary design is also placed on the insole and was part of the original Gel-Kayano 20s design. Final pops of color on the sneaker include the dark blue heel counter, bright pink Asics logo atop the tongue, and the red Gel pods placed on the cream and white foam midsole. Rounding out the design is the blue rubber outsole.
The Asics Gel-Kayano 20 Cream Blue has no confirmed release date but is expected to be released by the end of 2024 through Asics and select retailers online and in-store.
