Making it to the NBA is just the tip of the iceberg, as this star power allows one to expand their brand even without being a household name. For Austin Reaves, his journey in the NBA was unorthodox as after he went undrafted in 2021, he signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and garnered a roster spot on the LeBron-led team. As his presence continues to grow on the court, Chinese sportswear brand Rigorer (whom he signed with last season) is giving Reaves his own signature sneaker, the Rigorer AR1.
First reported on by Nick DePaula, CAD images of the Rigorer AR1 were showcased and displayed a sleek, low-top design that utilizes a mixture of mesh and TPU across its structure. Thanks to its mesh base, a digital-camo-like pattern of purple and gold is present throughout, with black giving these colors room to pop. Wavy lines are also spotted across the upper, while we see Rigorer’s crosshair logo on the collar's lateral side. Other details include a gradient pattern along the tongue and gold/yellow hits present on the bungee eyelets and back on the heel. Underfoot, a white foam midsole features yellow TPU windows on the forefoot and heel, while everything comes complete with a white rubber outsole. Exact tech specs for the silhouette have yet to be shared as of this writing.
Austin Reaves’ Rigorer AR1 is set to debut in the Summer of 2023 and be available online and in-store through Rigorer and select retailers. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
