German sportswear giant adidas teams up with independent fashion house AVAVAV to present a surreal take on a true classic in the form of the Superfinger Superstar Pack. Initially founded in 2021 in Florence, Italy, AVAVAV is now based in Stockholm, Sweden, the home of creative director Beate Karlsson. The fashion brand is developing a reputation for a sculptural approach to style, gaining viral notoriety when Doja Cat wore a pair of chicken feet while hosting the MTV Video Music Awards that was designed by the independent house, and the latest design with adidas certainly adds to that reputation.
Two high-grain premium leather adidas Superstars are given a luxurious take and sensationalized with added rubber appendages in the form of AVAVAV's signature four-finger motif. The appendages are secured by a strap that encircles the midsole, with the four Superfingers on each shoe encapsulating the toe area. Alas, fear not; they can be removed and placed on any other footwear you like.
These elevated versions of the classic Superstar maintain the signature rubber shell-toe design and iconic Three Stripes branding. One pair arrives adorned in Cream White, contrasted by better scarlet accents on the shoe and added appendage. The other pair is daubed in Core Black, with cream white accents on the sneaker and a black appendage. Crafted with high-quality, full-grain leather, the AVAVAV x adidas Superfinger Superstar exudes a refined look and feel when worn just as a sneaker, offering unparalleled comfort and durability. Amazingly, sneakers aren't just about aesthetics; they are designed with enhanced details that set them apart. The meticulous stitching, reinforced overlays, and debossed lettering along the midfoot give these sneakers a modern edge while paying homage to their vintage roots. The AVAVAV x adidas Superfinger Superstar Pack W is set to release on November 20, 2024, via AVAVAV, adidas, and select retailers online and in-store.
