Even a year after the Barbie movie hit theaters, causing a wave of pink-themed fashion trends, the iconic doll by Mattel is venturing into the footwear industry in 2024. In the lead-up to the film, Barbie teamed up with Crocs and Vans, both featuring a collection of multiple footwear models, but now Barbie has tasked Reebok with bringing all things pink to the Club C, BB 4000 II, and FloatZig 1.
As expected with Barbie sneakers, pink plays a central role in the various sneakers. However, only the FloatZig 1 comes primarily covered in this feminine hue, with the running silhouette featuring a bright pink mesh base and light pink overlays around the midfoot and heel. Barbie branding is placed on the midfoot next to the Reebok Vector logo and tongue tag while accenting hues of navy blue are found on the lining of the midfoot panel and the sockliner. Underfoot, the FloatZig midsole comes in a gradient pink hue with a two-tone pink and navy outsole.
The other footwear in the collection, including the kids’ exclusive Club C, the Club C Extra, and the BB 4000 II, comes with neutral hues accented by Barbie pink shades. The Club C Extra sees a leather and suede construction in a chalk white hue, with pink hits on the Barbie logo on the midfoot window and tongue tag. More Barbie logos are found via debossed B’s across various panels, and the final hits of pink are on the stitching of the chunky midsole. The kids’ pair has a similar chalk-white upper with the exact branding details in pink and pink hits on the heel and outsole. Finally, the BB 4000 II comes in black suede with pink lining on the midfoot panel and tongue, covering the branding details for Barbie and Reebok. Underfoot sits a white midsole with pink stitching and a black rubber outsole.
In addition to the footwear, a range of apparel will also be released.
The Barbie x Reebok Collection will release on September 20, 2024, via Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Sizing ranges between the pairs, with the Club C Extra and BB 4000 II coming in women’s sizing, the Club C in toddler, and the FloatZig 1 coming in full-family sizing. Prices vary between $50 and $130 depending on the size and model. Keep it locked to the Sole Retriever mobile app for more updates on this release and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
