Nike has made it apparent that going forward we will continue to see more women designers, collaborators, and exclusive releases for the ladies as a part of the brand's “Future 50 For Her” campaign. Not only does this cover Jordan Brand but Nike Sportswear, as we’ve seen superstar pop artist Billie Eilish bring forth her avant-garde aesthetic to classic Nike models like the AF1 in high-top and low-top form. So far, her take on the Air Force 1 Low has seen the iconic Bruce Kilgore-designed model take on tonal “Sequoia” and “Mushroom” colorways that keep the earth tone trend alive, however, her newest release will take on an ultra-clean “White” makeover.
Taking on a DIY/patchwork aesthetic, the AF1’s DNA still remains with stitching denoting the various canvas panels. Sporadically throughout this design are leather patches that follow the all-white color palette as do the eyestays, Swoosh, and heel overlay. While branding may seem unchanged, the lace dubrae features Billie Eilish’s “Blohsh” logo - a genderless stick figure slanted sideways - while the insole and packaging feature co-branded logos. Underfoot sits an all-white AF1 sole unit which completes the design.
The Billie Eilish x Nike Air Force 1 Low White W is set to release on March 23rd, 2023 through Nike SNKRS and select Nike Sportswear retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
