On top of the slew of collaborative efforts previewed at Paris Fashion Week, including CDG’s and Auralee’s take on the NB 1906R, Reebok joined in on the high-fashion-meets-sportswear trend with “aquatic wear” label Botter. As one of the more experimental fashion labels to show on schedule this PFW, Botter lives up to its expectations as the collaborative Reebok Venus Comb Murex Shell takes the foam-based slip-on trend into another universe.
Also getting help from tech giant HP for its 3D printed process, Botter took inspiration from the Greek goddess Venus and her Murex Shell to create a wavy, almost Yeezy-Esque silhouette. Aside from the various lines and wavy patterns that create an organic feel, the upper for them model retains classic Reebok DNA with the brand's vector logo 3D printed into the design. At the same time, laces and an internal neoprene bootie construction provide a solid lockdown. During the runway show, various colorways from monochromatic looks to gradient and metallic makeovers were showcased, though exactly which ones will make it to market remain a mystery.
The BOTTER x Reebok Venus Comb Murex Shell should see a release in the Fall/Winter 2023 season through BOTTER and possibly though Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
