The Brain Dead x adidas Forest Hills Collection Releases April 2025

Last year, Brain Dead, the LA-based design collective and streetwear brand, emerged as one of adidas’ newest collaborators. The brand first worked with the German sportswear giant on a two-pack of bowling shoe sneakers in 2024 and followed this up with multiple releases of their Unstructured Stan Smith. After an official look at a Dover Street Market exclusive colorway of the Brain Dead x adidas Bowling Shoe, official images of the streetwear brand’s newest collection of adidas sneakers have emerged.

Brain Dead has decided to tackle the Forest Hills model, an archival tennis trainer marketed as adidas’ lightest-ever tennis shoe when it first dropped in 1976. The model features technology developed by NASA inside the footbed to achieve a comfortable, cushioned ride while reducing weight. It is named after the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens, New York. Previous retro runs of the sneaker took place in the mid-2000s and 2019, with this release preceding a series of GR colorways in 2025.

Of course, with Brain Dead attached, we get a premium upgrade to the material makeup of the sneaker, here boasting a fuzzy, furry suede across the toe, midfoot, and on the toecap of the midsole. The four pairs in the collection boast Brain Dead branding in gold on the midfoot, Brain Dead’s logo on the right tongue, and final nods to the design collective on the left heel and the insole of the right shoe. Three of the four sneakers opt for a tonal finish across most of the upper with contrasting features on the Three Stripes, lace set, and sole unit, while another pair brings a multi-color finish to the Three Strips branding on the midfoot.

The Brain Dead x adidas Forest Hills Collection will release in Summer 2025 through Brain Dead, adidas, and possibly select retailers online and in-store. The first two colorways, Core Black and Cream White, will release April 25. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
