The Brain Dead x Hoka Hopara Releases This August

Brain Dead, the Los Angeles-based streetwear label, continues to push boundaries in a culture where collaborations blend creativity and expertise. Known for its provocative and graphic-heavy aesthetic, Brain Dead has previously partnered with a myriad of footwear giants, showcasing its distinctive art-driven approach to each project. Now, they’re turning their attention to HOKA ONE ONE, a brand celebrated for its innovative and performance-oriented footwear. Together, they’re breathing new life into the Hopara silhouette.
The Brain Dead x Hoka Hopara is a masterful blend of style and outdoor functionality. The sneaker's upper boasts an iridescent finish on the leather portions. Complementing this shimmer is the purple mesh that graces the tongue, offering a pop of color. Brain Dead's influence shines through in the heel, where the brand’s name is debossed in a retro 8-bit font reminiscent of classic video games. The overlays, positioned near the midfoot and toe, feature a textured finish, subtly adding depth and contrast to the design. Moving downwards, the midsole showcases a two-tone gradient green while black segments gracefully wrap around the heel and extend towards the toe. Everything comes grounded with a lugged rubber outsole in black, featuring a clear aged finish that adds a hint of vintage appeal.
The Brain Dead x Hoka Hopara will release August 22nd, 2023, via Brain Dead. A wider release will follow August 25th. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is TBA.
