New Balance’s well-known collaborators have a heap of colorways in the pipeline for 2022. From Aime Leon Dore’s 3-pack of New Balance 550s to JoeFreshGoods “Conversations Amongst Us” campaign, the usual suspects are here to provide. Alongside them, LA-based artist Bryant Giles is dressing an upcoming New Balance 2002R in artwork from his latest collection, unveiled at Art Basel, entitled “What Now?”
Dressing the slightly frayed canvas overlays and underlays is an all-over monochromatic olive green. Though the shade of color is unchanged around the upper, various designs by Bryant himself come in multi-color combos, placed around the mudguard, midfoot, and heel portions with the “What Now?” title making it onto the heel. Branding placements come standard for New Balance with the usual 2002R and NB on the tongue while the midfoot N is attached via velcro, allowing you to forgo the all-green look. More artwork is seen on the insole with a mosaic of sketches. Underfoot, the Abzorb midsole comes in white, with a grey semi-translucent outsole to finish the look.
The Bryant Giles x New Balance 2002R What Now? Is set to release in July 2022 through gonehomme.com, New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $185.
