Bryce Harper, one of baseball's most electrifying talents, has made a mark on the field with his batting abilities and signature cleat series under Under Armour. This collaboration has previously brought us memorable designs, such as the Wawa-inspired PE colorway. Now, Harper's latest venture sees his Harper 9 cleat receiving a special collaborative treatment with PSA, the renowned trading card grading company.
The PSA x Under Armour Harper 9 Gem Mint features a stunning jade green color palette, capturing the essence of Harper's dynamic persona. The cleat's design incorporates metallic panels on the toe and heel overlays, adorned with the BH logo, adding a personal touch that nods to Harper's initials. Above these metallic accents, a jade-hued knit fabric in a wavy pattern brings a modern, sleek aesthetic to the cleat. A standout feature is the PSA grading tag on the heel, a clever nod to the grading labels found on PSA-graded baseball cards. This tag grades Harper's cleat at a pristine "gem mint 10," symbolizing the highest quality. Two versions of the cleat were created, one with traditional cleats for on-field play (exclusive to Harper) and another designed for turf, which the public has a shot at grabbing.
The PSA x Under Armour Harper 9 Gem Mint will release on August 1, 2024, through Under Armour online. Limited to 500 pairs, each pair comes with a PSA slabbed schematic card, and 20 random pairs will get a version with Bryce Harper’s signature. Retail is set at $120.
