Throughout her rookie season in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark has been sporting Nike Kobe sneakers, as she has openly admitted that she's "a Kobe person" and that "It’s the best shoe. It’s not even close." While we’re all awaiting first looks at Caitlin’s signature sneaker, Clark has been given multiple Nike Kobe PEs, one of which made it into our top 10 WNBA PEs of the 2024 season. Before the start of the WNBA Playoffs, Caitlin Clark was given another Nike Kobe 6 PE, with Clark wearing the pair in the Fever’s matchup against the Las Vegas Aces on September 11th.
Sporting a gradient color palette on the faux reptile skin upper, we see a transition between a light lime green shade around the edge of the upper into a dark obsidian blue hue near the center of the forefoot. This dark hue extends onto the tongue and lace set while the Kobe sheath logo and Swoosh take on a golden yellow shade. The heel counter comes in a barely green finish accented by Kobe’s signature in obsidian. Rounding out the design is the Zoom Air-cushioned foam midsole in a tonal barely green color paired with a matching rubber outsole.
Unfortunately, the Caitlin Clark Nike Kobe 6 Protro Green Mamba will remain exclusive to the Caitlin Clark. However, there are a few Kobe 6 Protros headed our way in the next year, including the Sail and Dodgers renditions.
