Edison Chen's CLOT label has always been at the forefront of sneaker culture innovation, and its new partnership with adidas surprised many. This collaboration symbolizes a new chapter for both brands as CLOT leaves behind its mountain of work with Nike, and adidas is looking to energize its collaborative efforts since cutting ties with Yeezy. Following their initial successful launch, a three-way collab with the Japanese streetwear label Neighborhood on a reworked version of the adidas Superstar, CLOT, and adidas are set to release their next iteration on the adidas Superstar.
The CLOT x adidas Superstar By Edison Chen is a perfect marriage of classic streetwear and upscale European dress shoe aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from Edison Chen's summer trip to Europe and his new mature design sensibilities, this sneaker features an exaggerated shell toe design in white, seamlessly complementing the white lace set and an elegantly placed leather tassel. The upper is constructed from premium leather, presenting a refined look. Perforations akin to a brogue sneaker are strategically placed between the black Three Stripes and on the black leather heel tab, adding a touch of traditional elegance to the design.
A distinctive brown leather layer, stitched with tan contrast stitching, bridges the upper and sole unit, enhancing the sneaker's luxurious feel. The design is completed with a stacked white and tan midsole, offering a unique twist to the classic Superstar, and a cream-colored grooved rubber outsole for durability and traction.
The CLOT x adidas Superstar By Edison Chen will release on February 23, 2024, through adidas. A CLOT release is likely to follow, while it’s currently unknown if other retailers will carry the pair. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $200. For the latest updates on this release and more from the world of sneakers and streetwear, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
