The Comme des Garçons Homme x New Balance 509 Pack Releases Fall 2025

The whole fashion world has converged on Paris, France, as the end of January marks the first Fashion Week of the year. For us sneakerheads, this event gives us previews of what’s to come from the fusion of high fashion and sportswear, often marked by multiple collaborations with Comme des Garçons. This practice has rung true again as CDG has previewed pairs with Nike, the Air Rejuven8, and new collaborations with New Balance.
For its latest work with New Balance, CDG is tackling the New Balance 509, which saw a quiet revival last year that has yet to hit stateside. The model dates back to the late 2000s and early 2010s and was brought back in Korea and the Asian market when the Plum Brown Black and Black Silver renditions were released in October. The model follows the pattern seen with other tech runners brought back by NB in recent memory, retooling the sneaker with the midsole and outsole of the New Balance 530 while maintaining the upper of the original.
Of course, with CDG's hand on the sneaker, the model gets a material upgrade in two neutral colors. One pair comes in an almost all-white finish, with each panel differentiated by the slight grey hue applied to the edges of the leather. The other rendition swaps between dark grey, black, white, and metallic silver throughout the design.
Perforated leather lands on the upper base, while smooth leather finishes are applied to the toebox, midfoot, eyestays, and heel overlays. New Balance branding remains on the midfoot, with CDG Homme replacing the NB logo on the tongue tag. Final details include co-branded logos on the insole, 509 markings on the lateral heel, and a tonal Abzorb cushioned midsole borrowed from the New Balance 530.
The Comme des Garçons Homme x New Balance 509 Pack will release in Fall 2025 through select retailers online and in-store, including Dover Street Market. As of now, the retail price has yet to be announced.
