With many pointing to the lack of innovation from Nike, adidas has stepped up across the board to bring eye-turning designs to life across its various categories, from the futuristic Harden Vol. 9 to the 3D-printed Climamog. In the lifestyle segment, adidas is looking to push into the chunky runner trend with the Adizero Aruku, previewed in the White Pure Ruby colorway and spotted in collaboration with atmos Tokyo. Now, Boston-based retailer Concepts is launching its exclusive colorway of the Adizero Aruku.
Keeping the Adizero PR inspiration alive, the sneaker represents a fusion of global influences, with other inspirations for the design coming from the idea of perpetual motion. The single-layer mesh base comes with a gradient pattern, starting in a dark hue near the toe and transitioning into a white shade back toward the heel. As you move back on the sneaker, you’ll spot fiery orange hues in a gradient hue land on the Three Stripes, matching the shade of the Adizero logo on top of the tongue. Black webbed overlays across the upper provide structure and are coated in a 3M reflective material, shining bright when light hits. Underfoot sits the most innovative feature of the sneaker: the Swirlfoam cushioning setup. Paired with the rocker setup, the sole unit provides comfort and ease of movement.
The Concepts Exclusive adidas Adizero Aruku will release on September 27, 2024, through Concepts online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
