Crocs Calls Out Nike for The Nike ReactX Rejuven8
Published
It's not uncommon for fashion brands to be “inspired” by the competition, as everyone bites from whatever popular style is currently the most viral. When chunky dad shoes were the rage, every brand had its version, and in the last few years, foam slip-ons have become the next go-to, especially with the absence of Yeezy. Nike’s answer to this gap in the market was the ReactX Rejuven8, a Croc-like foam slip-on that has gone mega-viral and is instantly selling out with every drop and restock. Crocs has taken shots at Nike on their social media page in light of all this extra attention paid to the silhouette.
The video, posted to Crocs' Instagram story, directly calls out Nike for its ReactX Rejuven8 design. “We’re living rent free in your head huh Nike,” reads the caption on the video, which showcases someone wearing a pair of Crocs Classic Clogs and holding the ReactX Rejuven8 in the Light Orewood Brown colorway. The Colorado-based clog maker does have a point, as many online have pointed to the fact that the Nike ReactX Rejuven8 is essentially a Nike Croc, utilizing an all-foam construction that wraps around your foot and features circular perforations on the toebox.

The comparison is undoubtedly accurate, and this call out on social media adds even more fuel to the hype around the ReactX Rejuven8. Crocs is usually one of the best at marketing and social media, but in this case, it may be a blunder.
