Darryl Brown, who goes by knarlydb on Instagram, worked his way from 9-5 blue-collar construction jobs to becoming a renowned stylist. So renowned that he caught the attention of Kanye West who had Brown work on his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show and eventually became his personal stylist for around four years. After this, his own eponymous label would be formed, selling workwear-inspired clothing pieces that come made in the USA. Now, in collaboration with adidas, Brown is looking to those who worked to make the 2022 NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland, Ohio (Brown's home state) a reality as inspiration for the “Made Possible” campaign. Included in this collection, a special pair of adidas Campus 80s.
Coming covered in suede, canvas, and leather, a tonal sage green shade similar to that of a mechanics jumpsuit takes over the various overlays and underlays while white accents make their appearance on the Three Stripes logo and heel tab. Suede details appear on the toe, back half of the profile, and lining the tongue while leather gets placed on the bottommost eyestays and tongue, all of which come in a similar green hue. Tonal stitching details run around the profile and pass by the “Darryl Brown” branded tag near the toebox while the typical Trefoil logo lands back on the heel tab. Underfoot, a brown rubber midsole and outsole combo complete the look.
The Darryl Brown x adidas Campus 80 is set to release on October 6th, 2022 through select retailers online and in-store with a wider release planned for November 16th, 2022. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
