One of the most famous anime/manga series of all time, Demon Slayer, is no stranger to the footwear world. Last year, we saw Demon Slayer land multiple colorways on the Crocs Classic Clog, featuring characters like Nezuko, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. However, this year, Demon Slayer is transitioning to a new partnership with adidas, launching two colorways of the Rivalry Low.
Inspired by Rengoku, Tengen, and Tanjiro, the Rivalry Lows come with details and a color palette reminiscent of each respective character. Rengoku’s fiery appearance is translated onto the upper via literal flame details on the heel overlay and tongue tag and a gradient pattern along the Three Stripes, toe, and heel overlay. Other details from Rengoku’s outfit are found in the brown suede on the heel, the red midsole, and the brown outsole, while the tongue tag represents Rengoku’s sword hilt.
Moving to Tengen, his outfit and appearance are also brought to life via the white leather and navy suede details. A golden lace dubrae resembles the golden bands found on Tengen’s arm, while the tongue tag features the design of Tengen’s sword hilt. Metallic gold Three Stripes on the midfoot pierce off the white leather base and rest just below the pops of yellow on the TPU eyelets. Inside, the insole of both pairs features a Demon Slayer logo, while the midsole and outsole on Tengen’s pair are complete with a hit of purple and white.
Finally, a third pair is inspired by Tanjiro. As with the other two pairs, the color palette is directly inspired by the character's appearance, and the tongue tag features Tanjiro's sword hilt. Suede and leather construct the upper, with black suede acting as the overlays and emerald green leather on the base. Finishing the design is a brown and white midsole paired with a white rubber outsole.
The Demon Slayer x adidas Rivalry Low Pack is set to release on November 1, 2024, through Foot Locker online. A drop via adidas and/or an early release at New York Comic Con (which takes place this week) has yet to be confirmed. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $110.
