Eladio Carrión Announces He's a New Balance Brand Ambassador, Spends $47,000 on New Balance Sneakers
PublishedEladio Carrión, one of reggaeton’s hottest stars, has made a significant move in the sneaker world by officially becoming a brand ambassador for New Balance. The Puerto Rican artist revealed this exciting partnership during his recent appearance on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping. In addition to announcing the deal, Eladio shattered the show’s record for most money spent, dropping a staggering $47,715 exclusively on New Balance sneakers.
Eladio’s journey with New Balance began during his tour in Spain, where he first started sporting the brand's sneakers and gear on stage. Drawn to their comfort and the brand’s rising popularity, Eladio quickly became a fan. His affinity for the brand grew, leading to his participation in Shoe Palace’s lookbook for the New Balance 9060. Recently, he has been spotted almost exclusively in New Balance gear, solidifying his connection with the brand.
On the episode of Sneaker Shopping, Eladio shared that his current favorite model is the New Balance 1000, and he proudly wore the upcoming Sea Salt Heron Blue rendition during the show. Eladio went all out to set the record for the most money spent, a record previously held by Juice WRLD at $42,032, purchasing some of the most sought-after New Balance collaborations. His haul included the recent Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R Scorpius, the ALD x New Balance 1000 White, the JJJJound 990v3, and the Rich Paul 550.
However, the crown jewel of his shopping spree was his purchase of 165 pairs of the New Balance 990v3 Made in USA Grey, a model he bought specifically for the entire Puerto Rico Olympic squad. Despite only 51 athletes, Eladio decided to triple the order, spending $33,000 on 165 pairs of this sneaker alone.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in Eladio Carrión's career and New Balance's history, as he became the first reggaeton artist to sign with the brand. This move underscores New Balance’s commitment to expanding its influence in popular culture, following high-profile collaborations with stars like Jack Harlow and Action Bronson.
By aligning with leading designers like Aime Leon Dore and Salehe Bembury, New Balance continues to solidify its position at the forefront of sneaker culture, and Eladio’s ambassadorship is the latest step in that journey.
