After teaming up with A Bathing Ape and Saucony earlier this season, END. Clothing has now reunited with Matthew M. Williams' 1017 ALYX 9SM for a second collaboration, this time for the END. x 1017 ALYX 9SM Mono Mule Neon Faded Sole "Black." Taking on the American fashion designer's clog-like silhouette, this understated colorway pays homage to underground club cultures that have shaped the Italian label's experimental aesthetic since it first launched back in 2015.
END.'s take on the Mono Mule is a story best told in two parts. The top half of the shoe is simple yet striking, and crafted premium black leather. Sweeping lines curve across the collar and heel, while the lack of embellishment results in a minimalist look that's quietly confident. With that said, the bottom half features an entirely different plot altogether. Aggressively sculpted, the EVA midsole features a unique gradient effect that's inspired by the neon hues that flood the dancefloor. Abrupt creasing decorates the sides, while 1017 ALYX 9SM's iconic logo makes a cameo up front, finalizing the design.
While the END. x 1017 ALYX 9SM Mono Mule Neon Faded Sole Black might not be for everyone, it still deserves a spot in your daily rotation.
