Nike SB’s most recent collaboration with Jordan Brand on the Air Jordan 4 has proven that Nike SB-ifying non-skate shoes is a winning formula. Moving away from Jordan Brand, Nike SB headed a few buildings over to Nike Sportswear to begin working on classic sneakers like the Air Max 95, which is expected to land in a few colorways throughout 2025. Next up for Nike SB x Nike is the iconic Air Force 1 Low.

Reports emerged last year that a Nike Air Force 1 Low SK8 was in the works, which was said to be a skate-ready upgrade to the model. However, the idea of retooling/updating the AF1's construction and materials was scrapped in favor of skate-inspired color schemes on the Bruce Kilgore-designed sneaker. This could be due to the potential Nike SB x Nike Air Force 1 Low, which is seen here in a wear-test version on the feet of Nike SB legend Eric Koston.

Wear-test samples of upcoming Nike SB sneakers have appeared before their release, as seen with the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 and, more recently, with the Nike SB x Nike Air Max 95. As an early prototype, the sneaker is all-black, allowing the design team to see how it holds up to continued use, making high-wear areas or potential design flaws more noticeable. Tooling code is found on the midsole and is used for internal purposes.

As of this writing, there is no confirmed release information regarding a Nike SB x Nike Air Force 1 Low, but considering wear-test samples are being worn by team riders, that likely means a release window in early-to-mid 2026 is the case.
