Navigating through a sea of past collaborations and innovative designs, Face Studios, renowned for their eclectic design philosophy, rekindles their alliance with adidas, scripting a fresh chapter into the story of the adored adidas Superstar. With previous joint ventures like the ones with atmos Tokyo elevating the status quo of sneaker culture, Face Studios embeds its characteristic design elements, this time spiraling through the classic yet contemporarily adaptable framework of the Superstar. With three captivating colorways that echo distinct aesthetic languages, the Face Studios x adidas Superstar 82 Pack transforms conventional perspectives, all while preserving the essence of the iconic silhouette.
Adopting two parallel design structures for two out of three renditions, the Black Snakeskin and Natural Snakeskin models harmonize classic Superstar design with faux reptile skin, adding a touch of luxurious rebellion. The salient feature of a new circular cut-out navigates near the midfoot, while a subtle yet distinctive “44 square meter” marker finds its place on the heel, grounding the design with a bespoke signature. Contrasting these, the third iteration immerses itself into a playful canvas of pink and black, where added eye details peer from the lateral midfoot. Circles delicately segment the pink and black territories of the upper, with the darker shade asserting dominance over the toe, collar, heel, and medial midfoot. Face Studios branding stands alongside the tonal Three Stripes, while an embroidered brain on the pink leather heel tab injects an unexpected twist. Concluding the design narrative, a pink and black midsole is paired with a pink rubber outsole.
The Face Studios x adidas Superstar 82 Pack will release in 2023 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
