Fat Joe Shows Off the Off-White x Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred
PublishedVirgil Abloh’s time with Nike and Jordan Brand produced some of the most coveted sneakers ever. Outside the array of releases that hit shelves, Abloh had a long list of samples teased over the years, many of which have been highlighted online after his passing. Of the unreleased products that have hit the net over the years, the most illustrious has been the Off-White x Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred, which Fat Joe just casually posted on his Instagram.
This isn’t the first time Fat Joe has dropped some grails on his Instagram feed, as he previously shared images of an Off-White AF1 Low with Arabic text, the Off-White Air Jordan 1 High Canary, a Rubik Cube-inspired sample of the Air Jordan 1 High, to name a few. The Off-White x Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred is identical to the sample that has appeared multiple times over the years, with eyes drawn immediately to the ripstop nylon mudguard. Above this, we see a premium black suede contrasted by cream netting on the midfoot panel and tongue and the transparent plastic support wings and heel tab.
The medial side contains the classic Off-White for Nike text in Helvetica font, while other signature Off-White features, such as the “Shoelace” text on the shoe laces and “AIR” placed above the exposed Air unit on the heel, remain. The black, grey, and cream rubber midsole paired with a black and red rubber outsole completes the design.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, this Off-White x Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred sample won’t be released, though that doesn’t rule out a potential release down the line in some form.
