Since the announcement in December 2020, the world has been awaiting the first release from Jerry Lorenzo and adidas’ new sub-label Fear Of God Athletics. While many thought we would get our first taste of the line thanks to the CEO of Foot Locker stating the collection would hit shelves in Holiday 2022, Lorenzo came forward. He shut down those rumors as well as the possible connection to adidas’ new lineup of performance basketball silhouettes. Now prior to the brands upcoming show at the Hollywood Bowl on April 19th, we have first looks at a sample pair of Fear Of God Athletics x adidas Slides.
Keeping things as simple as can be, this sample pair features an all-white construction with a similar build to the famed adidas Adilette slide, however, Lorenzo changes branding details on the forefoot strap. This portion features three vertical stripes that come debossed while we see co-branded adidas and Fear Of God Athletics logos stamped along the footbed. While this design may come across as lazy, the minimalistic aesthetic fits right into Lorezno and FOGs design language.
The Fear Of God Athletics x adidas Slide is rumored to release in 2024 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers online and in-store, however, we may see the debut of other footwear and apparel during the previously mentioned fashion show on April 19th, 2023. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
