Fear of God's partnership with adidas has been nothing short of suspenseful. Led by the creative genius of Jerry Lorenzo, the brand had the sneaker community on its toes since the collaboration was inked back in December 2020. While the rollout for this collaboration featured a stellar fashion show, we’ve been waiting for official release info outside of a Holiday 2023 window. Now, more leaks have emerged as we have first looks at the Black colorway of the Fear of God Athletics x adidas The 86 Low.
Jerry's short-lived tenure with adidas Basketball becomes evident in this collection, as it heavily leans on basketball-centric footwear designs. The 86 Low is Jerry's homage to classic low-top basketball sneakers of the past. This particular silhouette, which seems to draw cues from classics like the adidas Forum and Rivalry, stands out with its sleek black suede covering, starkly contrasting with the earlier white version. Key features include: the iconic Three Stripes branding, a distinct Fear of God emblem placed on the heel section of the sole, and the signature adidas text gracing the platform sole unit. Keeping the design harmonious, the sneaker is capped off with a creamy midsole and outsole.
The Fear of God Athletics x adidas The 86 Low Black will release Holiday 2023 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers both online and in-store. As of now, the retail price has yet to be announced. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more.
