Since forging an alliance with adidas in December 2020, Jerry Lorenzo and his Fear of God label have generated suspenseful anticipation within the sneaker community. Transitioning from their previous relationship with Nike, fans, and sneakerheads have patiently awaited the retail manifestation of the first Fear of God Athletics x adidas collection. With fleeting glimpses provided through a fashion show at the Hollywood Bowl and sporadic online leaks, the enigma has only deepened. Following the preview of Fear of God Athletics x adidas The 86 Low in a Black and a Grey colorway, we have our best look yet at the performance basketball silhouette named The Two.
This poised creation intertwines engineered knit, TPU, and neoprene, unfurling a design that echoes similar details to the adidas Yeezy QNTM through its two-toned aesthetic and neoprene internal elements. The toe section incorporates a robust, fused TPU to fortify the upper, while the predominant upper reveals itself in a subdued black, engineered knit. The Three Stripes are subtly integrated through TPU on the midfoot. The lacing system exhibits a conventional lace arrangement, accompanied by a lace lock and supplemented by a bungee pull cord, enhancing its lockdown capacity. Underneath, a platform sole adopts a semi-translucent finish, housing a full-length Boost cushioning system. At the same time, the heel gracefully bears the Fear of God Athletics branding, positioned above a tactile rubber outsole.
The Fear of God Athletics x adidas The Two will release Holiday 2023 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
