UPDATE: Originally planning to take part in this month's Yeezy releases, Foot Locker reportedly decided against releasing Yeezy products. According to Brendan Dunne of Complex, the retailer was "afraid of the backlash that selling shoes associated with West, who now goes by Ye, could generate."
Sneakerheads might be able to add more Yeezy sneakers to their collection as Foot Locker is rumored to be gearing up to sell a range of Yeezy products. Following the frenzy stirred by Yeezy Day back in May, Foot Locker could be the first retailer to begin to sell Yeezy products following the massive backlash caused by Ye’s antisemitic comments in October that caused adidas to drop the artist.
Nine sneakers are listed on an upcoming Foot Locker manifest viewed by Sole Retriever. However, it's possible that some or all of these pairs do not release. This includes four colorways of the ever-popular Yeezy Slides and five styles of Yeezy 350 V2s. These n.
If this release goes as planned, the company will be going back on its words from October 2022, in which a Foot Locker spokesperson said, “Foot Locker, Inc. does not tolerate any form of antisemitism, or hateful and discriminatory behavior. While we remain a partner with adidas and carry a wide assortment of their collections – we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops."
Yeezy releases through Foot Locker should begin on August 3, 2023 and span throughout the month. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price for the 350s will be $230, while the Slides will retail for $70.
