Fortnite is no stranger to having ties to footwear, as we’ve seen Jordan, Nike, and adidas sneakers in-game through purchasable skins (and soon-to-be adidas apparel IRL), as well as a recent Crocs collaboration that brought the Battle Bus, Peely, and Cuddle Team Leader to life. However, according to the Fortnite info account Shiina on X, Nike and Jordan Brand are launching a collab during the next season that will allow you to put sneakers on different skins in the game.

While there are some customizable options for select skins in Fortnite, usually changing colors or adding specific effects to the skin, this new collab with Nike and Jordan Brand will allow you to place sneaker models on different skins. Shiina states in their tweet that some examples include the Jordan 1, Jordan 4, and Nike Cortez.

Currently, a handful of skins of Air Jordan models, including Travis Scott, who sports his Air Jordan 1 High collab. We have also seen Jordan Brand add the Air Jordan 11 Cool Grey as a backbling and on the feet of select skins, and Nike is bringing the Air Max DN and Air Max 1 to the game. These skins can’t change their footwear, which goes for all other skins in the game.

In an update, Fortnite has announced that it will be debuting KICKS, a new form of self-expression in-game. The category will feature original and partner cosmetics in the form of sneakers. Up first is the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Toe Reimagined.

The Nike/Jordan Brand x Fortnite collab debuted on November 13, 2024, in-game as a part of the Chapter 2 Remix's Pass in the form of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Toe Reimagined with v32.10. However, on the day of the patch release, Epic Games announced that KICKS had been delayed but had given all players the AJ1 High Black Toe. According to a leak from HYPEX on X, other sneakers that will be available include the Galaxy Foamposite, Jordan 11 Bred, Air Jordan 3 Black Cement, Air Jordan 4 Manila, the Air Jordan 3 Palomino, and more. The cost of the sneakers that will be added to the game also has not been revealed.
