In its storied history, Gucci has cemented itself in high fashion history whether that be for controversy or their luxury bags. Going in line with the likes of Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dior, the brand is reaching out to sportswear giant adidas to release a collaborative collection, something we have seen become more and more common.
With high fashion borrowing from streetwear and sportswear brands, the overall design language at Gucci and other luxury brands have begun to mimic their style while maintaining the avant-garde look. Showcased during the Gucci runway show at Milan Fashion Week 2022, the capsule features footwear, apparel, and accessories in a wide variety of silhouettes and colors. Low-top and high-top dress sneakers in Gucci color palettes including a full snakeskin-covered upper merge with adidas three stripes on the side. Some of these silhouettes also feature a heel with Gucci monogram and adidas trefoil branding in gold while the tongues house the co-branded adidas Gucci logo.
When it comes to apparel, the runaway show offered co-branded monogram satin suits, blazers and even tracksuits. A full range of accessories such as gloves, hats, and headscarves were showcased as well.
The Gucci x adidas Collection currently doesn’t have a set release schedule but can be expected to release by the end of 2022. As time goes on, both brands will be sharing more information in regards to availability and pricing to the whole capsule.
